New IPSR Director
Professor Dana R. Carney has been selected to serve as the director of Berkeley’s Institute of Personality and Social Research (IPSR), effective July 1, 2018. Following a campus-wide search chaired by Professor Victoria Plaut and consisting of members of the distinguished campus professoriate community, Carney was selected to succeed Bob Levenson. Carney is a professor in the Management of Organizations group at the Haas Business School, an affiliate of the Psychology Department, and an active member of the IPSR community. She is a distinguished scholar whose research focuses on the social psychological topics of nonverbal communication, power & influence, and prejudice & discrimination.
